Frequently Asked Questions
How many drops of Buttermilk Masala Liquid Spice Extract (Chaas Masala), 5 ml should I use?
2–3 drops per glass. For other uses: Jug (4 glasses): 6–8 drops; Also great in raita and dahi. Always add it to the liquid, batter or marinade and stir it through. Never take it neat.
How should I store it?
Cool, dry place, away from sunlight. No refrigeration needed. Direct sunlight and heat are the only things that shorten the life of the extract, so a closed cupboard is ideal.
What is the shelf life?
24 months from manufacture. Unlike ground spice, the aroma does not fade once the bottle is opened, so the last drop tastes like the first.
Is this the same as buttermilk masala drops?
Yes, it is the same format. EcoNfuse makes liquid spice extract, and because it is dosed from a glass dropper most people describe it in drops. The product is a concentrated spice extract, not a powder and not an essence.
What is it made of?
Oleoresins of cumin, ginger, curry leaf, green chilli, mint; food-grade carrier. Made with natural spice extracts. No artificial flavours, no synthetic colours, no added preservatives.
What does one bottle replace?
One bottle takes the place of a jar of chaas masala powder. Because the extract is concentrated, the cost per serving is a fraction of a rupee and there is no leftover powder going stale in the cupboard.
Is it vegetarian and FSSAI licensed?
Yes. It is a vegetarian product manufactured in Kerala by Ecospice Ingredients Private Limited under FSSAI licence 11325999000585, in a facility that does not process nuts, dairy, egg, fish, shellfish or gluten.
